Antique Heart Pine
Old-growth longleaf pulled from 19th-century mills and factories.
Hickory / Pecan
Flooring · Carya spp.
Hickory and pecan are the same genus and get milled together. It is the hardest domestic species we run — 1,820 on the Janka scale, harder than white oak by a third.
The reason people pick it is the color range. A single floor will run from near-white sapwood to deep chocolate heartwood inside the same bundle, sometimes inside the same board. It is not a quiet floor and it is not trying to be.
Because it is so dense it wants to be acclimated properly before it goes down. We'll tell you how long on delivery.
