Beams · Heart pine, oak, mixed hardwood
Beams add a warm flair to any home. The old antique patina with nail and bolt holes accentuates a room in the southern tradition. Ours can be structural or purely aesthetic.
We carry full solid timbers and we build three-sided box beams when the span is decorative and the weight matters. Box beams go up with a cleat and two people; a solid 8×12 in heart pine does not.
Everything is metal detected before it is cut. Tell us the length you need and whether it is carrying load — if it is, we'll get you the species and grade in writing for your engineer.
Most of ours came out of textile mills built in the late 1800s. When a job needs more than a building gave up, we cut new cypress and pine beams to order, up to thirty-six feet, on a beam saw that takes timbers to forty.
